1. Introduction and operator details
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the https://happydev.hu website (the "website"), what purposes they serve, how long they remain on a visitor's device, and how the settings can be changed at any time.
The operator of the website and the controller of any personal data processed in connection with cookies is:

The website is a single-page corporate presentation site. It has no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no registration, no login, no online shop, no payment function, no user accounts and no other data entry fields of any kind, and the website keeps no database of its visitors. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy; further details about the operator are set out in the Imprint, and the conditions of use in our Terms of Use.
2. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on a visitor's device through their browser and can read back on a subsequent visit or page load. Cookies allow a site to recognise a visitor's session, for example, or to remember a choice they made earlier.
Cookies are distinguished by who places them (first-party cookies and third-party cookies), how long they last (session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain until a set expiry date), and what purpose they serve (strictly necessary, analytics, embedded content, marketing).
3. The cookies we use
(a) Strictly necessary cookies. The website cannot operate securely without these. They maintain the session, provide security checks between requests (CSRF protection) and store the visitor's cookie consent choice. The session cookie is stored in encrypted form (Laravel's encrypted cookie driver). We do not ask for consent to these cookies, because they are essential in order to provide the service that the visitor has expressly requested.
(b) Analytics cookies (currently not active). No web analytics measurement currently runs on the website and no analytics cookie is placed. If we enable Google Analytics 4 measurement in the future, it will only start on the basis of the visitor's prior, express consent, once the analytics category has been accepted. Until the visitor gives consent, no such cookie is written and no measurement data is transmitted.
(c) Embedded content cookies (Google Maps). The website contains an embedded Google Maps map, which does not load by default. A "Load map" button appears in place of the map, and a request is sent to Google only if the visitor clicks that button. Section 7 sets out the details.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. No advertising or remarketing pixel runs on the website: there is no Meta (Facebook) pixel, no TikTok pixel, no Google Ads conversion tracking or remarketing tag, and we use no social media tracking embeds. We do not build profiles of visitors, we carry out no advertising targeting, and we neither sell nor otherwise disclose any cookie data to third parties for advertising purposes.
Fonts. The website serves its web fonts from our own server, on the happydev.hu domain. Displaying the fonts therefore involves no connection to any third party, transmits no data, and sets no cookies.
4. Detailed cookie tables
4.1. Strictly necessary cookies
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| happydev_session | Happy Dev Solutions Kft. (happydev.hu) | Identifying and maintaining the visitor's session, in encrypted form | 2 hours | Strictly necessary |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Happy Dev Solutions Kft. (happydev.hu) | CSRF protection: verifying the authenticity of requests and preventing abuse | 2 hours | Strictly necessary |
| happydev_cookie_consent | Happy Dev Solutions Kft. (happydev.hu) | Storing the visitor's cookie consent choice so that it does not have to be given again on every visit | 1 year | Strictly necessary |
4.2. Analytics cookies (currently not active)
The cookies below are not currently placed. This table applies in the event that we enable Google Analytics 4 measurement in the future; even then, they would operate only where consent has been given to the analytics category.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishing visitors for statistical purposes | 2 years | Analytics (consent-based, currently not active) | |
| ga* | Storing the session state associated with the Google Analytics 4 data stream | 2 years | Analytics (consent-based, currently not active) |
4.3. Embedded content cookies (Google Maps)
These cookies appear only if the visitor expressly clicks the "Load map" button.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NID (and further cookies placed by Google) | Operating Google's own services, together with settings and security functions for the map content | approx. 6 months | Embedded content (consent-based) |
4.4. Marketing and advertising cookies
The website uses no marketing or advertising cookies, so there are no cookies to list in this category.
5. Legal basis for consent
Strictly necessary cookies are essential in order to provide the electronic service that the visitor has expressly requested, so we neither ask for nor require consent to them. The legal basis for any related processing is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): operating the website securely and as intended.
All other cookies, including the analytics category and embedded content (Google Maps), operate solely on the basis of the visitor's prior, freely given, specific and unambiguous consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, in line with the electronic communications privacy rules (Directive 2002/58/EC). Refusing consent carries no disadvantage: the content of the website remains fully accessible either way, and only the embedded map will not be displayed.
In connection with the website, the hosting infrastructure (Laravel Cloud / Cloudflare) keeps web server logs, which may contain the visitor's IP address, a timestamp, the URL requested and the browser identifier. This is not a cookie but server-level logging, carried out for operational security and abuse prevention purposes on the basis of legitimate interest. Our Privacy Policy covers this in detail.
6. How to manage your settings
The "Cookie settings" link in the website footer reopens the settings panel at any time. From there, an earlier choice can be changed by category, and consent can be withdrawn at any time without giving reasons. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of consent-based processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Cookies can also be managed through browser settings: most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or restricted, and cookies already stored to be deleted. If a visitor also blocks strictly necessary cookies, some functions of the website may not work properly. The exact steps can be found in each browser's own help pages (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and others use different menu options).
7. How the Google Maps embed works
The map on the website does not load by default. A static panel and a "Load map" button appear in its place. Until the visitor clicks that button, their browser sends no request whatsoever to Google, so Google receives no data about the visitor and places no cookies.
If the visitor clicks the button, they thereby expressly consent to the embedded content being loaded. From that point the browser establishes a direct connection with Google's servers, in the course of which Google receives the visitor's IP address, technical information about the browser and device (user agent), and details of which page on happydev.hu the content was loaded from. Google may also place its own cookies (such as NID) on the device and, if the visitor is signed in to a Google account at the time, may link the data to that account. Google carries out this processing as an independent controller, under its own policies, over which we have no influence.

8. Third-party privacy policies

- Laravel Holdings Inc. (hosting provider, Laravel Cloud): https://laravel.com/cloud/legal/privacy
9. Validity of consent and changes to this policy
The happydev_cookie_consent cookie stores the visitor's cookie consent choice for 1 year. Once it expires, or if the cookie is deleted or consent is withdrawn, the settings panel appears again and the choice has to be made afresh.
We may amend this policy if the operation of the website, the technologies used or the legal environment changes. The version in force at any given time is available at /en/cookie-policy, showing the effective date and the date of the last update at the top of the document. If we introduce a new cookie, or the purpose of an existing cookie changes materially, we will ask for consent again.
